I heard that menstrual blood is very powerful in spellwork. Besides putting it in a man's drink...which is something i think i wouldnt do i was wondering how i could incorporate it into my candle magick. Also, I was wondering if anyone knows of any good spells thanks!

Any kind of blood is not really a good thing to use in any spell work. That is tantamount to sort of a pre-requisite blood sacrifice. I have been a practicing witch for over 40 years, so yes,I know a lot of spells, all written by my hand. As you mature you will find that spells work best if they are written by the person casting them. Otherwise, in my opinion, they are borrowed and lose much of their power. This is also why I do not share mine! Not to mention the possibility of the energy coming back on me if something goes awry.

Bad Idea!

I recall reading only one documented set of spellwork involving menstral blood. And that was quite a few years ago...so I'm having to work off my memory here.

This was published by a ethnologist who had studied certain Native American tribal practices for a number of years back at the turn of the century...most likely 1800.

The ethnologist managed to get rapport with a Navaho (?) witch who used her own menstral blood in death curses.

The subject of that particular section was considered an outcast by the other members of her tribe (if not a little "loopy", even by the local shamans)...and I must presume most (if not all) of her methodology in her spellcraft was "self-discovered".

Insofar as the overall material in the book was not overly informative about the subject I was trying to acquire information on at the time...I did not buy it, put it back on the shelf, and don't recall ever coming across it again. So I am unable to provide any references.

If you're only wanting to give your candles a bit more "zip"...try using the planetary oils cross-referenced to the various Spheres in the Tree of Life via Liber 777.

Example: Chesed (Jupiter) is Cederwood oil.

But stay away from menstral blood (Bleah!).

Other than for sexual attraction, I've heard that a few ways that people incorporate it into their spellwork is using it in place of ink, or using it in place of anointing oil, to use it for protection and healing, among other ways & intents. You could probably even use it as a symbolic icon of The Goddess.

As far as "good spells".... it depends on if you mean good as opposed to ill intent, or good as opposed to ones that don't work so well... Regardless of your meaning, I've found the spells that work the best are the ones that are done in a way that feels best to you personally, worded in ways that fit to what you truly feel/desire. If you feel you need to use tools or "props", as some may say, then use them. If they don't feel right to you, don't use them.... it's usually best results if the wording comes from within, but if you choose to use another's words make sure it is what you fully intend, and still best to at least reword it so it's more personalized.

Hope that helps some!

I'm with the Valkyrie on this one.... Some cultures believe that women will pollute the water because of this natural occurance and they were forbidden to go near the water upstream of their tribes. I'd imagine it's good for roses though...

Menstrual blood?

I guarantee you that imbibing menstrual blood will achieve nothing. Unless, of course, the person who has ingested it is told afterwards what it was - then perhaps they may feel a tad woozy. Although it won't be due to the menstrual blood itself, but rather the fact that knowing you've ingested someones blood is likely to make you sick. A placebo of menstrual blood will do just the same thing.
