Why was anybody destroyed in Sodom and Gomorrah? Was the God of Love in a bad mood?

It is a popular misconception that these wicked cities were destroyed for sexual immorality. Jesus tells his disciples before he sends them out to preach that if a town does not welcome them they are to leave and shake the dust off their feet in testimony against them. Jesus said "on the day of judgement it will go better for the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah than for those of that town."

Was Jesus implying that the disciples might be raped? No he was saying that if the inhabitants DID NOT WELCOME THEM (mistreated them, failed to show them hospitality) they would be cursed.

In the story of Sodom and Gomorrah, Angels are dispatched by God to collect Lot and his kin and remove them from the city since they were the only righteous ones. Lot welcomes them in. An angry mob gathers demanding to know who the strangers are. They demand that Lot surrender the men to them so they could humiliate them by raping them. Lot seeking to protect them, offers the mob his virgin daughters instead. This does not quell their hatred and they proceed to break Lot's door down. The Angels blind the mob and proceed to take Lot and his family out of the cities.

In ancient times, hospitality was paramount. A person who refused to give refuge to a traveller or stranger would have been considered reprobate indeed. The world was a dangerous place in those days. Refusing someone refuge might leave them to be prey to thieves who often murdered their victims. The cities were punished, not for sexual immorality, but for crimes against hospitality.

Everyone was destroyed, homosexuals just happen to be apart of the wickedness that God wanted destroyed.

Homosexuals are a stinch in the nostrils of God. All that live this lifestyle men and/ women will not enter into the gates of Heaven. Not my words but our Lord has spoken.

In the Book of Leviticus they stoned them to death. And in Iran the hang you so the public can see.

What homosexuals in Sodom and Gommorah are you talking about? Have you even read that chapter?

It has NOTHING whatsoever to do with homosexuality. It's about rape, which was a common practice (and to this day still is in some places) to humiliate the 'outsiders'.

Or does a man raping a man = homosexual love in your opinion?

Does then a man raping a woman = heterosexual love/marriage?

Get your facts straight please.

and19:13; ' ... for we are about to destroy this place, because their outcry has become so great before the Lord that the Lord has sent us to destroy it.”

Any religious God fearing person, knows in all major religions that God forbids same sex mingling sexually... He warned and warned those people, but in their arrogance and greed's and lust, they refused to take heed.. He thereby punished them and left it as a warning to future generations.. And if you believe God says the truth, and is perfect in his wisdom and choices,, if they were worthy of punishment for this,, we of this age are also... otherwise he'd have to apologize for that...

it wasn't the =homosoxuals; it was the entire population of the cities. And the reason was because they were totally rude and nasty to strangers. It really had nothign to do with sex - gay or straight.
