I want to burn a movie on a dvd-r so that i can watch it on my dvd player?

I have Nero StartSmart 6.6.1.6. And i do not know how to burn a movie.Can i burn it with nero startsmart or i have to buy an additional software?If yes, what are some free and good softwares to burn?And also can my xbox 360 play movie on a burned dvd-r?Thank you.

Depends on what "options" your nero has.

Make sure smart start is set to DVD at tome
Choose the "photo and Video" tab 4th icon in it should be
If you have an option "Make your own DVD" use it, if not then you need the "NEro Video" setup files, but that depends on licence.

Alternatively try to find "DVD Factory" I use DVDFactory 6 and it's dead easy and gives good results

Dunno about the console, never owned a console, but SHOULD play it if it plays "bought" DVDs

you need a program to strip the licensing off of the dvd then shrink the dvd (if it is dual layer) to a single layer 4.7 gb dvd. THE BEST SOFTWARE IS 1 click dvd copy! Amazing. If you just want to copy a dvd that has already removed the licencse on it for example one you burned using 1 click, then you can just burn it using nero because it has been stripped of license and is formated to the 4.7gb disc..dvd shrink is also a good software and its FREE download at afterdawn.com

Check Afterdawn.com for user guide on how-to do things, also check the software tab, there are many video tools, DVD rippers, etc. Your Nero version should have place a user manual on your HD, that will give you a good idea on burning. Good luck.

I think you can use total video2dvd author,it is easy,handy program that create and burn DVD movie. you only need one lick.total video2dvd author will generate dvd a movie.
