God resides within your own self and devil is your own creation. God has endowed humans with a divine faculty of intellect that has to be wisely used by us. We can all distinguish between right and the wrong deeds by using our intellect, if we listen to the voice of our pure consciousness it will definitely guide us to do the right thing, but if we listen to our mind and senses we would be tempted to take the wrong path and do a wrong deed. God and Devil reside within our own selves and we cannot blame either GOD or DEVIL for OUR OWN DEEDS.

God is in and of himself without fault. He is perfect. If the devil wanted to do us good then he would not have introduced death into the world by getting Eve, and then Adam to disobey their righteous maker and recieve his just punishment. Satan caused death to enter the world. Has that done mankind a lot of good?

it is simply the nature of God to be good, and as His followers, we ought to do the same. actually, it is not an obligation; it's a lifestyle.
note: " if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." james 1:5

Actually, God said it.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
( Psalm 37 )

the devil never wants us to do good and God never wants us to do evil.
you were born, that's how you know god wants you to do good.
