Okay, so on Tuesday, we have a French test. I'm in 8th grade, and this is my first year taking French.
I took Spanish from 6th-7th grade. At my new school, we have to take both.
But my teacher is aware that I do not know as much French as my other classmates. So she said she'd give me a slightly different test.
I have to memorize 72 WORDS AND PHRASES by Tuesday. I made flash cards, and I am learning slowly.
French is very similar to Spanish, but French is really sexy.
I also have to know the exact spellings off all the words and phrases.
Any tips on how I can make this easier?

Taking two languages at the same time can be hard especially when they are as similar as spanish and french!
Practice makes permanent!
Try to make connections if you have already started learning spanish think about what helps you memorize those words.
I like to make flash cards with pictures on them. they are fun to make and colors are supposed to stimulate your brain into further action. While you are making each card think about the word and correct spelling of them. Try to make a sentence of the word. Once you finish the flash cards go through each one if you can immediately know the answer and spelling put it in pile 1, if you are shaky put it in pile 2, if you don't know it at all put it in pile 3. Keep going through piles 2 and 3 until all the cards are in pile 1 then go through pile all of them again.
Study especially right before going to bed because then your brain will have time to make necessary connections while you are asleep (this means staying up and cramming all night isn't the best way for learning a language since each lesson builds upon the last lesson).
if the things you are learning are objects that occur in everyday life, then whenever you see them say them to yourself in french or better yet tell a friend what they mean in french.
DON'T wait to study until tuesday night!
good luck!

I'm taking Japanese (in college) and I use flash cards for vocabulary too. Take just 5 words and do them over and over again until you know them, then quiz yourself on how to spell them until you can spell them all without missing any. Then add 5 more cards to your first five cards. Do this over and over again until you know them all. Then make sure you go back and do the same thing at least one more time. (Like the next day) It sounds very time consuming but you'll probably be able to know all the words in about 3 hours. In the future, make sure you devote an hour every day to studying a foreign language. Good luck with your test.

when i took my spanish classes I tried to make the words reference as closely to english as i could. by that i mean that I i would find something common in the word and connect it to an english word. especially the tougher ones.
and the best way to learn a new language is to speak it. lock your bedroom door, and just say the words you need to know out loud followed by the english translation. and make sure you do your best with the translation. cause it makes it easier to "sound it out" when you're spelling.

Find little tricks to remember the words. Does it sound like something you already know? I take Spanish. I often remember words this way. For example, to bend is doblar. I just think of somebody doubling over. Try to think of words this way, and it will help a lot more!
