I just got a 34 inch HDTV Toshiba from a friend (it does NOT have the hdmi hookups in the back, just so you know). The problem is, I have so many other electronics that have to hook up to my tv that I dont know how to connect my s-video wire from my digital box to my tv. I will not be getting HDTV until next year so I was advised by a store rep to get an s video cable to make my picture a little better for watching my tv shows. I currently have connected to my tv: a vcr, wii, a ps2, a surround sound dvd player (not hd) and my digital box. When I tried connecting the s video cable from my digital box to my tv, the image came out worse. what am I doing wrong? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

Well SVideo does give you the best bang-for-the-buck.

Try using that exact cable on the DVD player. If the image is still messed up, either the cable is bad or the SVideo input is bad.
