Each service sets their own rules and it varies with the uniform type and the situation. I.e., at a stateside base, most anything was fine in the Air Force (before I retired) if it wasn't visible and especially religious items were fine because that is a protected Constitutional right. Visible rings and female (only) earrings had to be plain. Nothing could be considered faddish.

In the AF, you are authorized to where 3 rings doesn't matter what kind as long as it's not gaudy. You can wear a watch and a bracelet. You can wear your dog tags, You can wear a necklace but it must not be visible in uniform ie chain can not be showing around your neck. You may wear earring, ie, round diamond, pearl or spherical balls, just not to large in class A or B's.

According to Navy standards, you can wear one ring on each hand (including a wedding ring) one bracelet on either wrist, one watch on either wrist, a necklace as long as it's not visible while in uniform, and one earring in each ear (females only, no hoops or anything fancy, just posts).

Just about any piece of jewelry can be worn, as long as it coincides with the regs of the branch of service for your man. most of the time it just can not hang outside of the uniform if it is a necklace.
