You have a bean plant that is overall pale green and its lower leaves are turning yellow then brown.
What's wrong with this plant?
What should you add? Auxin, Gibberellin, Ethylene, or ABA?

Botany test question, please help.

Adding hormones to an established plant that does not look perfectly healthy is usually not the solution.
Plants synthesize their own hormones.

Most likely the symptoms are from a nutrient deficiency,
the potting soil might not be good
And water is the only other thing added.

If the leaves were undergoing pre-mature senescence as a result of...
Or it is an older plant that has seed pods,
and wants to die and dry out.
If you were to add hormones in this case.
Too late for the brown leaves,
but for the upper ones that are pale green.
ABA would help repress further senescence.
The plant could be saved and its life extended a little longer.

But definately not Ethylene
