I recently asked a question about prayer, and several people who answered signed off with "descriptive word, like *patient* prayer warrior". What does that mean? Are they all part of some kind of prayer group? Is that a known expression? I'm a Christian, but I've never heard of it before. Thank you for answering!

The term is used by people in different parts of the country to describe folks who are willing to pray for the needs of others, and continue until the answer comes. My grandfather was a retired preacher before he died, and referred to a list of folks at the church he attended as "prayer warriors". He smiled when he said that--some of them had prayed for Grandpa during his various sicknesses, and he knew it! Several churches have lists of prayer chain members, and I am so grateful they are there!

So basically, these are folks who believe in prayer, and will not just toss around a blanket prayer--these folks pray for specific things, by name if possible, and try to bear your burdens so as to fulfill the Law of Christ (Galatians 6). There are a lot of definitions, many probably better than mine, but the important thing is that we have a lot of these folks. Oh that we had more!

A Prayer Warrior is someone who prays for people who need it and who ask for it. There's nothing like the power of prayer.

A prayer warrior is someone that goes to prayer and battles for a certain person and their needs. Like I may pray for someone that is addicted to alcohol and in the spiritual realm I would be battling the demons that are keeping the person in bondage. Sometimes a pray warrior actually feels the battle for the person and may even cry because they are feeling that person's pain.

I do not know about the rest of the country but it is a common expression here in the south.

All that it means is someone who is consistant in their prayer life, someone who is persistant in their prayer life, someone who is faithful in their prayer life.

A prayer warrior is someone with the gift of prayer. They spend their lives interceding in prayer for others.

I assume it means they are prayer warriors - those who are gifted in prayer who use that gift.
The descriptive word is just that.

I believe in the power of prayer. I also believe that letting someone know you are praying for them encourages them that they are not alone in their troubles, that someone is lifting them up to the Throne of God and believing He will comfort and encourage them. God bless you, and I will be praying for you.

Lovingly,
Virginia
