I went to a friends house this week and my friends introduced me to this very cute girl. I got to talking with her and she was a great person and very smart and funny. After the night was over my friends told me that this girl wanted me to ask her out. Shortly after that my friend told me she was 18 years old. I am like 8 years older than this girl. Is it wrong for me to go out with her? Is it weird because she is just getting out of High School? The funny thing is she didn't even talk about being in school still. Plus I have only been going out with women my own age my entire life. Will it be weird to date a young lady?

my wife is 9 years older than me. its not the actual age that counts its the emotional age. (as long as its legal) if you liked her and she liked you dont let age stand in your way. it might seem like a big age gap now but if if works out and you guys get older 8 years is nothing, think about it. when you are 58 she will be 50. not a big deal.

That's a big age difference. And as much as age is just a number, it says a lot about where you are in life. IF you decide to ask her out on a date, just date and leave it at that. Don't aim for a serious relationship with her, because she's going to college next year. I don't care what she says, she isn't ready to settle down yet, as I'm sure you are. There are going to be a lot of new young, attractive guys at college, and if she's really as cute, smart, and funny as you say, all these guys are going to be heading straight for her. And chances are that she'll want to date a couple of these guys and get the full college experience. Even if she's a good girl that has the best of intentions, she will get restless. Best of luck!

If I were the 18 year olds parent- I would wonder why it is you are dating someone so young at your age. She is still experiencing life as you are too. I would possibly be friends and just talk and such - but don't push it further than that.
At your ages 8 years is a big difference in ages.
This is just my opinion

No, my boyfriend is 8 years older than I am. I think as long as you guys can talk things in a same level of perspective. You might find her lifestyle is different than yours but if you can overcome that, age shouldn't be a problem.

its only an eight year difference, that would seem WEIRD at my age but b/c shes 18 it IS legal, and if it seems comfortable with you guys then its fine. if you can have conversations that are at the same level of intelligence/maturity then your fine.

It might be awkward at first but if you think there is chemistry between you two then I think you should take a chance. But make sure you know for sure she is really 18! good luck...
