I always love how Hollywood plays this up in their movies. The answer is "Yes." But it takes a lot more than just a little bleb of air. Think of it this way, if you put both of your hands together to make a large fist, that's about the size of your heart. Now, roughly divide that in to quarters and it's going to take at least that amount of air. The idea being that it completely displaces the blood in at least one of your four heart chambers. If there's no blood to evacuate from that chamber, then the heart will falter. And for the record, a "heart attack" is when one of the arteries surrounding your heart -- providing that portion of your cardiac muscle with oxygenated blood fails to do so (clot or vessel explodes) that portion of the muscle dies. It's called a myocardial infarction.

Yes, I suppose so. The air would block your blood from passing through your veins.
