Remove the software and reinstall again.

What operating system do you have?
If it's an old one, that may be the cause.
If not, go find another computer and clear the memory, reset the iPod. Then try it again. If it does not work, that is a glitch and you need to return it to the store.

hahahahah don't waste your time trying to fix it

my new itunes messed up

itunes doesnt detect your ipod but windows does.

trust me don't try and fix it
