Edit: I think generalizations are bad no matter who they are aimed at. Christians, Muslims, Pagans, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, etc etc are all individuals who deserve better.

This is a valid point. I've started to ask several questions tonight, then cancelled them, not out of fear of being reported, but because it seemed like no matter how they were worded, I could imagine people using them as an excuse to rant and bash instead of discuss.
Edit--as for the people saying atheists shouldn't be on here, why not? It's a free forum. I don't like being insulted any more than ya'll do, but it seems the opposite of Christian to say "you're not welcome here."

Generalizations are made from ALL sides. But, yes I do agree that there are to many generalizations going on in here. Some people tend to base what they know about some ones belief or non belief on just the ones they know or have heard about. But every person is unique in their own way, and not every one is the same. You have the very rude in here, but you also have the ones who answer with respect. It is the same all over. But yes, making generalizations is ridiculous.

I feel your pain, the same goes for why do all Muslims; Jews; Dem's; reps; men; women; etc. Sorry, but I can't think of a single group that doesn't get it.
Unfortunately right now the Christians seem to be getting hit a lot because of the holidays.
It is a shame, but it is life!

A wonderful idea and one that this Christian is very much in favor of.
Now if we can only muzzle. . .I mean, persuade some of the more extreme and vociferous individuals on both sides of the faith issue, we'd have a chance to see your plan succeed.

A messianic Jew is a Jew that believes that Jesus is the Messiah. Christians and Messianic Jews feel that Jesus is the Messiah. They are Jews. The factor of view of the anti Messianice Jews is first-class summed up by way of Mark JPAS whilst he mentioned "it's appropriate to mixture a few measure of overseas religious factors with Judaism. The one exception is Christianity, that is gave the impression to be incompatible with any kind of Jewishness. This is the double general that's carried out to Christianity although Jesus is regarded the Jewish Messiah in Christianity. Messianic Jews are checked out with even larger disdain. Why? its a canopy for there possess deviations from Judaism. Some Jews have to hold a connection to Jewish loved ones considering they've deviated such a lot from conventional Judaism that many Orthodox query their Jewishness. They want uncover a few method to distract awareness considering of there deviation from the Torah. This is finished by way of pointing their finger at others to direct awareness clear of their possess movements. You can not deliver your self a identify and assume that it makes you anything. This is the argument that has been used in opposition to Jews that come to a decision that Jesus is the Messiah. We are advised that the mere notion of an additional nature of God instantly invalidated a Jews Jewishness. At the identical time Jews that end up atheists, pantheists or quit training any detail in their faith we're advised are nonetheless Jews. They say that you'll be able to feel in whatever however Jesus. Jews name conversion "becoming a member of the tribe". Things that could under no circumstances fly in Orthodox or for that topic Messianic Judaism may also be determined within the Reform and Reconstructionist routine. A well instance of it is a earlier query requested right here. The individual asking worshiped the God Ferris however didn't feel in him or the Jewish God. The attention of the query was once" ...could you PERSONALLY consider cozy welcoming me no longer simply as a fellow congregant at your Synagogue, however as a member of the Tribe?" (so he was once naturally asking approximately changing to Judaism). The reaction was once "Reform Judaism covers a large swath of ideals and practices and I am certain you'll be totally permitted. ... I for my part could be given you entire heartily as a fellow Jew." So a few Jews will be given a wide variety of deviations from the Torah however no longer notion in "Jesus". Let's no longer disregard the Reform motion desired to difference the sabbath to Sunday to be extra like Christianity. Most Messianic Jews are Torah observant but you'll be able to end up an atheist, quit training their religion, end up a Buddhist, become a member of a Unitarian Church and nonetheless be a Jew within the eyes of Reform/Reconstructionist Jews. Most Orthodox whilst requested approximately different Jews will say they do not know what non Orthodox Jews are. The identical applies to the opposite sects. Speaking of sects Jews will inform you there are not any sects however its no longer precise. Rabbinical Jews comply with an information in their religion that was once headquartered a million,900 years in the past. They have their possess canon of Scripture. There also are non Rabbinical Jews such because the Ethiopian Jews that follows the sample of the Christian Old Testament and they've many further books that they keep in mind to be scripture. A institution referred to as the Karaites is the reverse of the Ethiopian and handiest feel within the five Books of Moses. Rabbinical Jews name Karaites "a sect of Judaism". You can goggle it and notice for your self. Don't allow someone inform you that there are not any sects in Judaism. They say the the lessons of Jesus are very distinctive from Judaism. They additionally declare that Jesus taught not anything new from the rabbis earlier than him. Then they we inform you that there have been no rabbis till 100 years after the time of Jesus. Its all approximately profitable the argument to them no longer approximately what is precise. The concern isn't variations however similarities. You will have to understand ALL the writers of the Christian Bible had been Jews however one. Much of our Scriptures are shared. The tremendous majority of early believers in Jesus had been Jews. So whilst you listen the special reverse you have to preserve that during brain. A Jew can feel in Jesus and nonetheless be a Jew. Edit: those who make individual accusations will have to incorporate hyperlinks or close up.
