I have this movie that I want to burn to a CD so it can be used on a DVD, but the file type is .avi, do I have to change it to anything else before I burn?

if you want to burn to a cd, you have to convert it to mpeg1 and burn it with nero or something.

if you want to burn it to a dvd, just convert to mpeg2/vob, and burn it with nero or alike.

The burner will do that job for you. Try nero burner
