It means he hasn't yet adjusted to the fact that you two are no longer together. That takes time. I would just tell him no. If you continue to hang out with him, you will only stretch out the relationship that is over - it doesn't matter if he still likes you or not.

well you asked this a few times now so im going to answer.
a day after the break-up he might just still have feelings for you and wants to see how your doing ( Does not mean he wants you back ) A day after is to short to tell, everyones going to call their ex the day after they break up. Wait a few days, and see if he calls you if he doesn't call him. ask him to hang out and see how things go.... we have no idea if he likes you or is playing with ur head because we don't know how the relationship was or how he is. but fact is , you guys broke up... maybe thats what it took for him to realize he loved you and wanted to be with you

uh, I think now that he is "free" and you are not "together" why not still get some anyway. Sorry, it's how guys are :( At least he called at a decent hour.
I'd suggest you move on, unless you're okay with the friends with benefits deal but don't be surprised if he will see other people too. Just don't get hurt.

Well, he certainly doesn't hate you, but he could just be extremely used to calling you, you broke up only yesterday.
