Before the year 1054AD there was only one church, which was referred to as the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church consisting of the 5 patriarchs (Rome, Constantinople, Antioch, Jerusalem, and Alexandria). The Great Schism happened between the West (Church of Rome) and the East (Churches of the East) in the year 1054. The main reason for this schism was a dispute with the filoque doctrine (the Holy Ghost proceding from the Father and the Son), which the churches of the east refuted and the Papal Supremacy doctrine (the Patriarch of Rome having full and supreme jurisdiction over the Church of Rome and the Churches of the East). The Church of Rome considers the churches of the east(Orthodox Church) to be schismatics. The Orthodox Church considers the Church of Rome to be schismatic. I'm trying to search for the truth. Both sides trace their lineage of bishops directly to the Twelve Apostles, then to Jesus Christ, the founder, the one true God made man

The difference is technical.
As the Son is the only begotten son of the Father, everything from the Son comes from the Father anyway, so it is possible to arguer that the Orthodox is right as the Father is the ultimate origin of all. However, if by doing so they are denying the Holy Spirit doesn’t come through the Son at all, one ends up with the Son and Holy Spirit with the same order of precedence, and that is wrong. There was no such denial originally, if it is denied now, the Orthodox are wrong. But either way the Catholic Church statement that the Holy Spirit precede from the Son as well as the Father, does not contradict the original Orthodox belief that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father. However one looks at it, The Catholic Church is still right, where as the Orthodox may not be.

The "orthodox" in front of Coptic Catholic church signifies direct separation from the Roman Catholic church.

That is a great question
As our Lord said in Matthew 18 verses 15-17

If your brother sins (against you), go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won over your brother. If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you, so that 'every fact may be established on the testimony of two or three witnesses.'
If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church. If he refuses to listen even to the church, then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector.

One good question to ask is what church has been around in the 3rd, 7th, 10th, 14th century, and so on. And there is only one, and that is the Catholic Church. I also reccomend going to your local library, or order some of the early church fathers. Some examples. Ignatius of Antioch, Jerome, Augustine, or pick up a book such as 'The Later Christian Fathers' by Henry Bettenson, he gives commentary of a lot of writings after 325 A.D. you will find some things such as Jerome, (who is known for translating the scriptures to the Latin Vulgate)

Jerome had this to say
"I follow no one as supreme leader except Christ only; hence I attach myself in communion with your Beatitude, that is, with the see of Peter. I know that the Chrch is built upon this rock. Whoever eats a lamb outisde this house, is profane. Anyone who is not in Noah's ark will perish when the flood prevails"

You can read about the right church in the Bible. Actually, it's the only church. Christ created it on the day of Pentecost. It's His church. Not Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and so on. Just His church.

Neither. There is one mighty one and that is YHVH. He sent the Messiah YAHOSHUA to be savior. the offer of salvation is a marriage contract that He offered. Take His name and follow His rules (Torah). Believers followed Torah for about 300 years after Messiah's death. Then "Christians" outlawed obedience to Torah. (I hope you can take it from there)

The Catholic church is run by Satan. There were other Christian organizations just underground. Read Revelations and seek your answers first from God. Don't let the religions of this world dictate your beliefs, rather the Living Word that God left for us...It's about God not religion. We learn of God in the Bible. I believe the Bible. It's not what you are as much as what you know, admit, and believe....first off know you're all sinners, admit it and believe in Him. Trust Him. Ask Him, He wants to hear from you and help you.
