92F, BHP, 1911, Glock 17, Sig 223.

All good, somewhat ineffective in the hands of a rookie...

H&K USP .40 or .45 (full or compact)
H&K P7M8 (if you want a smallish 9 mm--fixed barrel makes it crazy accurate)
SigSauer P226 or P245

responding to the Walther question...Bond is a fictional character that is a throwback to the 50's. His sidearm is too. The PPK is a .380 caliber pistol...think 9 mm without the mass or velocity. It has really limited stopping power and penetration. Not the best choice for an offensive handgun.

The Desert Eagle is cool and super powerful, but heavy and hard recoil. They also have the Baby Eagle 9mm excellent accuracy.

Glock is the best as far as I am concerned for its safety, reliability, innovation, magazine capacity and weight. Others fair better in my estimation of accurracy, but hand guns generally serve only up to 25-50 yards at most anyways.

Well, there's the Smith & Wesson .45, the Luger Parabellum, the Beretta Px4 Storm, and all the Glocks are good pistols.

I had two Ruger P-89 9mm pistols. They took all types of ammo and never jammed. My Sig P229 9mm always jammed if I used cheap ammo.

So I now stick with Ruger

Any glock, not really for serious competition but very low maintenance and simple to shoot or break down
