My husband just retired from the military after 20 years. I really would like for him to slow down a bit and live more of a "normal" lifestyle and not go 1000 miles an hour and pack so much in. I know I shouldn't complain, but after 9 years of military life, deployments, trips to Iraq etc I want more time with him and him to do less for others and more for "Us". Is there any books out there to help with career military people to decompress and adjust to civilian life?

Just give him time. It is hard to leave behind the military lifestyle especially after that long. Don't push him. You know he isn't going anywhere anymore. He will unwind. Maybe suggest a vacation for two.
