We've done Carmine's, Tony Di Napoli's, Virgil's BBQ. Looking for a casual, not too expensive place to eat near the Marquis Theatre at Broadway and 56th. We're seeing the Drowsy Chaperone at 3 PM. Wouldn't mind a good diner or Chinese place. We want to eat before the show, around 12 or 1 o'clock. Good food is more important than cheap, but don't want to spend a ton either. Thanks in advance.

Blue Fin (times square) is a good place. Not super cheap but have really good food especially California rolls ($10 for 4).

There's a nice vegetarian Asian place on 46th Street at 9th Avenue called Zen Palate. The food is pretty good there. If that's not to your liking, 46th Street between 8th and 9th avenues has a plethora of restaurants. And remember, the blocks between the streets are pretty short, but between the avenues are fairly long.

When I took the family to NYC last summer, we simply wandered around and studied the menus posted outside the restaurants.

We found two fantastic Japanese restaurants not far from where you are, but I can't remember the names.

It's New York - you can't go wrong! (Unless you go to a chain like the Olive Garden!)

First off get ready to spend some cash. 2nd just explore the area and find what looks interesting, plenty to choose from. Have a great time!

The worst thing you can do is eat before the show...you'll only have to poop during it! Eat after...much more convenient.
