This friend I've known for 8 years started saying mean comments about my religion. She is an atheist and she recently started saying things like "the (insert my religion)'s are trying to take over and they're really rude and they can't get anyone to date them" and stuff like that. Which is really weird because I think the majority of US citizens share my general beliefs especially around the midwest. She was being so rude that I basically stopped hanging out w/her. I never said stuff about her beliefs like that. What do you think about that?

We had a couple of conversations years ago but haven't "dished it out" or whatever in a long time. I have completely avoided the subject for a long time, she keeps bringing it up because she's mad that our city won't take down this religious monument on public property. So don't jump to conclusions great gazoo.

I would tell her.... Listen I really care about you and the fact you said those things to me really hurt my feelings. I know we don't agree on this subject so lets just relax and talk about other things. ......if she doesnt start being nice to you after that move on. .
..but if you are gonna be friends you do need to consider her view point? ( I dunno)

She's putting you down thus not a friend. I had a Christain friend who couldn't accept that I didn't believe the same way, and would do the same in reverse I guess. You can try telling her to respect your beliefs but if it doesn't work time to go out and make a new friend.

As with any group, some people don't know when to shut up. All I can say, it tell her it bothers you and it's very rude to you. If she talks like that, I would just leave and say If you can't speak nice then I'd rather not talk. She'll learn.

Be honest that her comments are hurting your feelings, that you treasure your friendship with her and maybe religion and atheism should be off limits between the two of you.

I think that if she can't respect you, then you shouldn't hang out with her anymore, like what you're doing. Explain that to her, that you two need to have a mutual respect. It should be o.k. to have disagreements and to talk about things like that, but to be disrespectful is another thing.

Hi, Katrina:
Well, Satan has finally showed his colors. He uses atheists to tempt you, and your faith is much too valuable to barter while being "unequally yoked."
We all want to convert our friends, but when they don't listen for a while, it's time, like Jesus said, to work on another fig tree.
May I suggest you build your faith in Jesus by reading the only part of the Bible that was closed until our time. All people of faith need its strengthening balm. See www.abiblecode.com
Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

So...how many times were you trying to "save" her before this happened? That's usually what sets it off. And you guys can dish it out, but when you get it back you can't handle it.

Remind her that you follow those religious beliefs, and that it hurts you when she says these things.
