I would only hate the fact that I didn't understand it. If at all interesting, I'd study and research as much as I could

Hate is such a strong word, so why would I "hate" something simply because I do not understand it? I simply do not understand, and I make the choice according to need or interest level whether I desire to learn more about it.

The pendulum does swing both ways however. It is a matter of human nature to "fear" the unknown. I was afraid the first time I drove, flew, swam etc. I always have some fear on the first day of a new job! But as I learned to drive, grew comfortable in flight, learned to swim and get to know my coworkers, the fear subsides and I embrace these things.

In general I am curious about things I don't understand. I'm sure there are exceptions. For instance, I do not understand how to do a tune-up on my car or change the spark plugs but I do not loathe these things. I take them to a mechanic who does understand. Most people are curious by nature I think. Why do you ask?

To hate something you don't understand. I would learn more about it and try to understand it in a different perspective. This forum is an eye opener, that not everyone agrees in what you believe in. It's better to be open minded in other people's ideas and beliefs and to respect it no matter what it is.

Only if it is harmful in some way. Like I don't understand terrorists but I hate them any way.

Generally though, a person who hates something simply because they don't understand it would be an intolerant ignoramus, unfit for society.

I've studied lots of religions before choosing to remain agnostic- so no, I don't hate what I don't understand. I'm naturally inclined to study it in depth before making a choice.

It depends entirely on what it is. I don't understand physics, and I would never spend time learning about it. I've studied just enough physics to know that physics and I are not and will never be friends.

I am usually very curious about things I don't understand.

But I don't have time to study everything.

Unfortunately.

Hating something you don't understand simply shows one's ignorance, because you if someone learns about that thing, he/she might end up loving it dearly.

For me... I'd be curious, and I'd want to learn about it more, then I decided whether I take it or not.

Peace.

Curious and study it. I don't think I "hate" anything.
