You are mistaken.

Neither of the resolutions were to "promote" religious holidays. You see, that would be an unconstitutional violation of the Establishment Clause of the 1st Amendment. The Ramadan resolution simply recognized, in a non-binding, "House Resolution" kind of way, the value and importance of Muslims in America, on the occasion of their holy month. The Christmas resolution did the same for Christians, using virtually identical language.

For the Ramadan resolution : While it is true that all but one of the Congressmen to vote "present" rather than "yea" (41 of 42 - no one voted "nay") were Republican, and more Democrats (224) than Republicans voted for the measure, almost all the Republicans that voted (152) were in favor as well.

For the Christmas resolution : While proposed by a Republican as a response to the Ramadan resolution, and an obvious dig at Democrats, you should know that more Democrats than Republicans voted in favor. Out of 372 "yea" votes, 195 were Democrats and 177 were Republicans.

So the correct answer is, "Where the heck did you hear that nonsense? Faux News?"

You are in the wrong category.
And christianity does not need any help to do anything in the United States, they already have way more control, and say so, about too, many things, as it is.
Democrats are not anti christian. Many of them are christian, and if they are not? then they didn't let anyone know about it.
As for the democrats being anti christian?, that is simply not the case.
Congress is doing the best it can, seeing that with the Republican Lobbyists, right there, to back up the Republican Minority, in votes. It is amazing that they can do anything at all. if you want to complain about what congress is doing? Start with the leaders of your own party.

Yep, you poor poor christians. You have it soo hard. Maybe someday, we'll have 43 good christian presidents in a row.

Get over it. Most of our constitution is based on the idea of protecting the minority from the majority. You're the majority. Deal with it.

Two reasons.
They want Muslim votes-at just about any cost.
To infuriate the religious right-who does not vote for them.
