Why would Sony stop making the Playstation consoles anyways and how is it going too far? Nintendo has had even more consoles than the Playstation.

The reason why you might be saying that Sony has released a lot of consoles is because they are numbered (PS1, PS2, PS3). The numbering of the Playstation's may make it sound like a lot, but really it's not.

Also, I wouldn't be suprised if the PS4 came out in 2011 or 2012. I really don't expect another Sony console before then anyways. And even when the PS4 comes out, the PS3 will still be supported and games will still be made for it just like the PS2 right now.

Why is that bad, the PS1 had an 11 year life span, and the PS2 is still supported, and so is the PSP. The Playstation 4 isn't going to be released until Microsoft releases their next console, and the PS3 will be supported with games and updates for another 9 years.

Nintendo has had 9 consoles- which are
- Color TV Game
-Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)
-Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)
-Nintendo 64 (N64)
-Nintendo GameCube (GCN)
-Wii
-Game Boy
-Nintendo DS
-Virtual Boy

You think Sony is bad? What about MS? There's the core, arcade, premium, elite, and Halo 3 edition. At least with the PS3, Sony is introducing new configurations. All the PS3 haven't gotten any new configurations. With the 360, the premium suddenly got HDMI. Where does that leave us, the ones that got the premium without the HDMI output?
