He's neutered if his testicles are about the size of blueberries. If they're more like raspberries, he's not.

The sac the tesicles were in is flat in a neutered cat. Another way to suspect if a cat has been neutered if he can no longer "pop" his penis (having it come out during routine activities such as grooming). I've never seen that happen in a neutered cat.

Is the cat male or female. You can use the term neuter to describe both. If your cat is a male, then the testicles will have been removed. If your cat is female then there is no way to tell externally if she has been altered.

Well if he's missing his balls, he's probably neutered! (or female...) He also wouldn't spray everywhere to mark his territory. You could always ask a doctor. Where did you get you're cat from that you don't know if he's neutered?

The main thing is going to be spraying. Unneutered males spray to mark territory and leave behind a very strong, ammonia smelling stench. Lifting his tail to check for what could be "missing" could be misleading. I have a male that is neutered but looks very well intact. Push comes to shove you can take him to any local vet and they will be able to tell you 100%.
