Our genetic makeup makes us territorial in order to gather resources necessary for survival. Cavemen would fight to defend their cave from being taken by other tribes because they needed the shelter of a cave to survive and the cave wasn't big enough for everyone to share. Now multiply that instinct by millions of people and war starts to make sense. Most wars are fought over resources, no matter what the reason given is.

Disobediance of the law & the lack of enforcement. Mr. Sandman, Intolerance breeds hate! I'm sure that all the illegals want tolerance so they can take advantage of the oppurtunity. Right? So where is peace, only the law can bring peace untill God ushers in a more perfect way. Amen!!!

2 - Religion (can't we all just get along)
3 - Fear ( what would happen if we all were at peace? To many fear that to be honet) Some people really love the hate/anger/war.

Discord among people. Be it color of skin, language barriers, legal vs. illegal, accused of being patriotic, or not (depending on if you're for the war or not). Over-crowding. Religions. Politics. Economic strain.
Division of views within the country. One or more groups think that their views are the only one that counts. Excluding American laws already on the books, I'd say the "my way or highway mentality".
