Im getting one tomorrow on my shoulder...are they just going to shoot me with dye and then a regular MRI or something else!?!?

I've had lots of MRI's i'm just not sure what the arthroscopy is...and how much pain i'm going to be in after if any?! thank you.

You are like me having problems with the shoulder. I am off for a x-ray as want to rule out calcification, already had this on the other shoulder, so start their. Likewise I have RA so could be arthritis in the shoulder. Tissue injuries do not show up on a x-ray, hence the MRI. If they show you have torn the rotator cuff then they will whip you into surgery and repair it using the arthroscope. They literally make two small incisions, where they feed through instruments into the area and work away. It is not a BIG operation, bit sore after wards, but incisions small. If the MRI shows zero then no arthroscope. Good Luck

I had the Arthoscopy done on my knee and my doctor did not give me any pain killers,and I should have asked for a script because I was in allot of pain for the first week or 2.Make sure your doc gives you a scrip for some lortab or vicodins. God Bless.
