My closest relatives live in Canada. But I also have a friend who has been living in Australia for 17 years now. My younger brother says UK is a pretty cool place.

Of course my personal alternative is my own private island

Ohhhh, jeez that one is difficult. I've always been drawn to nothern Italy though so I might decide to retreat there or Ireland. Don't ask why, I really can't explain. I would probably decide on Italy though. I least I am familiar enough with that climate to know how to survive if I had to, for like growing my own food, and raising livestock and stuff like that.

I would go to Costa Rica because the climate is steady. Vegetation is strong (grow own avocados-mmmm), the economy is stable. The medical capabilities in San Jose are as good as ours , and, their life expectancy is longer than that in the USA. Also, they are near the ocean and have the great laid- back not rushing lifestyle that I adore.

OH, and, I am fluent in Spanish, so language is not a concern.

If I HAD to leave the USA, and could choose anywhere, I would choose New Zealand. Opportunities are currently unlimited there. It would be a nice place to start over.

USA is where the action is. Politics, entertainment, sports, environmental conservation, space adventures and almost all significant aspects of life are being talked about in America.
