I hired someone to install 650 sq feet of 5/8 inch thick bamboo flooring. I have just discovered the idiot did not glue it all down and certain boards are loose. Of course the scumbag has vanished! I have heard that I can use nail gun (Hilte brand can be rented from Home Depot) that would be powerful enough to go thru the wood into the concrete floor below it to correct instead of pulling the entire floor to correct and tighten all the boards. Can some confirm if this is a viable option that I can do without damage to the wood? Of course, I want to use nails with a head small enough that they won't be seen.

thanks and Happy Holidays!

I wouldn't. A hilti gun can drive a nail through the floor into the concrete but hilti nails are not appropriate for finish work. I think your best bet is to find the installer and have him repair his work. If he refuses you can have someone else do the work and sue the first installer for the price of the repairs. If the first installer was a subcontractor of the flooring store, the store would be responsible. If you hired him yourself, you are on your own.

At a hardwood floor supplier, you can purchase an epoxy gun that mixes and then shoots the adhesive under the flooring. You drill a small hole into the bamboo and then stick the needle of the gun in the hole. The epoxy will flow to other surrounding areas. Then just putty the hole. We use these for adhesive failures or where a board came loose. Do not shoot nails into the floor. That particular gun shoots a big nail and it will leave unsightly damage.

same annswer as above but you can get nails that will drive the board down to hold the glue tight to board its a nail with a washer on it used for your flooring but make sure you drive the nail so it just holds or you will find it leaves washer marks in floor from driving nail in to far i hope this helps your problem
