Did anybody else have a hand in it?

Around six feet?

Six hours roughly, until death. Traditionally believed to be around 9 am to 3 pm. The Roman soldiers would not likely be very concerned about taking the body down. Joseph of Arimathea asked for the body so the burial could take place before the start of the sabbath which would be sundown Friday.

Crucifixion typically was a very long, painful, drawn out death. Six hours was a 'quick' death for this method of execution. Victims were often left for days until they died.

Death by crucifixion is by extremely slow suffocation. Having the feet nailed but allowed to stand on a platform prolonged death and suffering. People generally did not bleed to death. The wounds from the nails were likely to clot. Jesus was scourged prior and depending on how severe this could be a reason for a quicker death. We also have the account of the spear wound afflicted by the Roman soldier in Jesus's side.

Jesus' agony lasted some 3 hours.
They nailed both his feet together.

The religious authorities of the time (Sanedhrin, Higher Priests) requested his execution to the Roman ruler. They had no authority to pass a death sentence themselves.

Judas was the one that handed him over.

The rest of the disciples, as well as his many followers acted by omission out of fear (this is called "The abandonment of the disciples" and "Peter's denial").

Theologically it is said that all humans are responsible for Jesus' death, each time we fail to live as he taught.

How long was Jesus on the cross? Long enough to order a Big Mac, fries and a coke, pay for it, stand in line waiting to get it, then get it and eat it, throw away the litter, put the tray back on the stack of trays, go to the bathroom, get the car keys out, walk to the car, open the door, turn the key, start the engine, back out and drive away.
