I don't think there is any other category on YA where I have seen so many. It rather funny actually because its so predictable. All answers have like 20 thumbs up and 20 thumbs down. I think violations are most common from here too(for me anyway). Haha not really an important question, I just thought I'd throw it out there. I guess Christians can only get back at us by giving our true answers thumbs down! They probably feel like they really accomplished something to!

"ignorant and immature" and why exactly? I and trying to show that everyone who does this are. Because no one uses it based on how good the answer is. Its all based on their opinion.

Ok so I guess the guy who called me ignorant and immature deleted his answer, so my first detail is kind of irrelevent now. Oh well!

I know they are meaningless, thats why I find it so funny that people think they are really hurting the answerer. I can just picture them sitting at home on their computers scrolling through every answer they disagree with and giving thumbs down to all.

I do enjoy looking back at one of my "controversial" answers just to see how many thumbs down I have, its usully a few.
Haha I like that idea about editing to a different answer after all the thumbsdown. I do find it odd how YA gives no indication to anyone when a answer has been edited either.

fcmnum - not that big of a deal. Its one question is a sea of hundreds. And what agenda am I pushing exaclty? I just found it funny, I know its not a serious question. I thought other might enjoy it to! No need to respond if you don't like it. I gave you a thumbs up though just to be nice :)

The thumbs up down is part of the entertainment value. I like to go back to my answers from this category and see how many thumbs I got. It's purely opinion on here so it's fun to see how many people are on who agree and disagree.

I rarely read the answers of the other responders & I rarely if ever revisit a question or my responses unless I receive an email question concerning one of my answers. I do not bother with the thumb's up or thumb's down, simply because everyone is entitled to their own opinion or perception.
But I have been in R&S long enough to believe that the majority of the slamming, antagonistic questions and venomous responders come NOT from those who enjoy R&S but it is those who are seeking attention and those who are only interested in slamming, causing upset, and starting verbal melees between and with Pagans, Christians, Atheists, etc. etc. to relieve their own personal isolatory boredom and because they are mean-spirited by nature.
Actually a R&S moderator told me that the vast majority of violation reporting comes from the instigators and not sincere R&S members.

Oh I don't know about that. I was recently over in the movies section. The question was asked ,"What was a good comedy to watch?" I suggested any Marx Brothers movie. I got several thumbs down. What was wrong with my answer? I don't think there is a rational explanation.

I agree - it's ridiculous when someone gives a Thumbs Down merely because someone isn't their religion (or isn't religious). If you don't agree with a rant or smart aleck remark - then go for it. Don't when someone answers the question "Do you believe in Christ?" and they answer "Yes, I do!" don't give a thumbs down if you're an atheist or non-believer.
If an answer is respectful and on point, leave off. Give Thumbs Up if you agree with the answer.

It is one thing to ask a question from genuine curiosity or concern, it's another thing all together to put a question mark at the end of a message just so you can call it a question. The whole concept of this program is so people can become more knowedgable without the hassle of research, not to call something a question in order to push your own agenda. You are not looking for an answer, you are just complaining about an obsvervation.

I only use it sparingly. If I trully agree with an answer or disagree with an answer then I'll do the "thumb-thing." It's kind of difficult to be over in the recipe section of the site and trully disagree with a suggested sugar cookie recipe but really easy be in R&S and to thumbs-down a person who says another is going to hell.

They are meaningless. They have no rank value and the asker usually selects the best answer and i see no indication that they are influenced by thumbs. It's a childish and useless convention. I wish Y/A would discard it. Same goes for stars; they're worthless in any real sense.

Oh I love it. When I answer a question about Christianity, God or Jesus from the bible, and use scripture to back up what I'm saying, the more thumbs down I get.
I can judge exactly how well I've hit the nail on the head.

extra beneficial than once I particularly have regarded at an answer and theory "that replaced into proper. I desire I had theory-approximately that" basically to confirm some thumbs down. Frankly, i think of alot of the tds are out of lack of understanding. I additionally think of a few TDs are human beings attempting to make their solutions look extra powerful. each answer has a TD apart from one? Hmmm. all of us understand there is gaming taking place and that i think of in specific circumstances we get a splash mad approximately it. it extremely is unhappy because of the fact i think of the balloting and the thumbs would be a brilliant thank you to parse out good archives from undesirable. i think of a few remarkable concepts have been made right here.

I am a Christian. There is a rare time when I don't get two or more thumbs down. It's better than hate mail.
