Don't listen to them. Don't let them get to you.
I let it get to me and next thing I knew my grades were slipping. I spoke to a counselor about my family problems and it really helped!

Surround yourself with positivity like friends, school mates, magazines that inspire you to do well and anything that makes you happy.

Just talk to someone and don't argue or fight back. I know you want to lash at times (right?) but keep your cool and that is what builds great strength in an individual. And remember you will be out of there in a few years.

Hope this helps :)

I know what this is like, I have been through it before. So listen to this advice:

1) Ensure that it is not a "feeling". Lots of people look at things from their own perspective, and end up losing sight of the issue. Gather some evidence, ensure that what you "feel" is in reality truth.

2)Talk to a teacher, counselor, pastor about how your family treats you. Show them why you feel that way. Also Try to look at all of your good points. I'm certain that you know you have good characteristics otherwise you would not point out that you feel like people are belittling you.

3)Maybe the whole family needs help. So seek it.

4)Sometimes those options are not available, so the best bet is to locate someone who is trusty, someone who will listen to you. If you are a religious person pray, and build up your relationship with God. If not then find ways to build relationships with people who are more supportive then family. Be careful though, as boyfriends/girlfriends, and some friends are bad ideas. They can backfire on you. The best friend to have is one who you have known a long time, and trust deeply.

You take some quiet time to see how you may contribute to this.

They maybe be 99% in the wrong....but you're responsbile for 1%....find out what that part is and do something about changing it.

In the mean time try to talk to your family.

Ignorance is bliss.

Believe in YOU, better off leaving the naysayers and all that negative energy at the door and may they take a look at themselves in mirror someday.

YOU NEED TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO YOU AND THAT YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO BE TREATED THE WAY TAT THEY ARE TREATING YOU. OPEN UP TO THEM AND SEE WHAT THEY SAY...THEY MIGHT NOT KNOW THAT THEY ARE TREATING YOU BADLY...OPEN UP TO THEM!!!!
