The Gospel of John is a good one to start with as it provides the most in-depth exposition of Jesus' life and teachings. Plus, one of my favorite Bible passages is John 1:1-5.
Also, Paul's letter to the Romans is my favorite Epistle. He deals with the real life struggle to be Christian in a not-so-Christian world. It is full of good advice and inspiration.
Lastly, the Acts of the Apostles is a very interesting read. It deals with the early church - the trials, the tribulations, and, yes, even the in-fighting and squabbling among the Apostles....especially Peter and Paul.

If you are NOT a Christian=Follower & Believer in Jesus Christ, then you need to start by reading The Gospel of John, found in the New Testament of the King James Version of the Holy Bible, which is Jesus Christ's love letter to mankind.
If you are a new Christian, I would start with The New Testament of the KJV Holy Bible, then I would go back and read the history of the world found in The Old Testament, beginning with Genesis 1, "In the beginning God..." . The Old Testament covers mankind's existence from the beginning and ends just before Jesus Christ was born.

5.read Ruth & Esther
6.Gospel According to St Matthew

Psalms is a good book to start in because it is all praises to God, and they more enjoyable than books such as Numbers. Proverbs is also filled with great things that are interesting, but overall, my personal favorite book is Revelations.
Some people start at the beginning of the bible and read all the way through it, but you can go on any Christian book website and find a daily devotional guide that will tell you chapters to read each day. I get mine from briomagazine.com

Will I think the first book that is best to start with, is the first book from the old testament, which is Genesis. So that you'll have a better understanding of the beginning of everything. But of course you have to pray and ask the divine power to guide in your study, I mean for the Holy Spirit to inspire you, as you are studying God's word. I believed that you will have a better understanding as you move forward to the next book in the Bible. May God Bless you as you continue serving God and inspiring many people. Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would humbly suggest either of the Gospels except Luke. His writing is a bit more complex than the other Gospels. You might also consider picking up a book called Bruce and Stan's Guide to the Bible. You can find it cheap on Amazon. Well worth it. Good fortune with your journey.

Start with a Gospel. I suggest either Mark or John. Then follow it up with Acts. After the Gospels hit Romans and then the other letters. It's all good stuff, but there is a lot to study.

If you're Christian, don't start with Genesis because it will take too long until you arrive at the Gospels. Numbers and Leviticus could make you legalistic and bore you to death (well, not actual death, lol).
Read the Gospel according to Luke, or John. Then Romans, Galatians and Ephesians. Alternate with a bit from the Psalms.

you will be able to start on the outlet and browse via to the top, in spite of the undeniable fact that the classic testomony is rather symbolic, and not being an historical Hebrew, and no longer having studied the scriptures before, it somewhat is in all probability that fairly one in all those it would sail maximum appropriate over your head. additionally, it is not prepared in chronological order, which makes concerns that fairly greater difficult to stick to. i might propose you do a rapid examine-via ability of of the style new testomony in a sturdy extremely-present day version such by using fact the Holman or the style new residing Translation, and then spend a mutually as gaining awareness of the gospels. After that, you may prefer to make certain the Acts and Epistles chronologically. (Do an information superhighway seek and you will have the skill to locate a lot of chronological examining plans.) As you examine, observe the numerous references to historical testomony passages. you will be able to ought to return there and browse the section referenced, to get a deeper perception into what the author grew to become into as quickly as pondering. mutually as you do initiate examining the OT, I strongly advise a chronological examining plan. in any different case it somewhat is extremely problematical to confirm what's happening. which you should make certain the Psalms and Proverbs straight away via, in spite of the undeniable fact that for lots of the OT, you'll have concerns in sequence. desire this helps you!

Matthew, Mark, Luke, Then John. Then go Psalms and Proverbs. Next go to Genesis. Many people say start in Genesis but unless you are well grounded in the Word you can get lost in the Rules and Laws that they had back then and it can be confusing. Always remember Jesus came to full-fill not change.
