he's talking to someone else and says, "he's totally in love with her... unfortunately"
and somehow you hear about it... What would be your reaction? Why do you think he added "unfortunately" at the end?

People tend to have the mentality that a long distance relationship means that the people involved are cheating on eachother. I've been in one for 4 years and I have NEVER cheated and neither has my bf. It could be that his friend has that mentality and just made that statement. The friend (if its a girl) may like him and just wanted to say that shes jealous that he is in love with you. There are some many reasons that he/she could have said it. I had many family members who would say that i was in an "unfortunate" situation because my bf and i were in a long distance, but the reality is that they dont know what its really like and they can't judge. Its sad that he has a friend who thinks that way but as long as you and your bf are strong and commited then you'll be fine. Email me if you have more questions good luck :)

Because most people already know that 99.9% of long distance relationships don't work. His "Unfortunately" comment was just concern that someone will get hurt.
Either that or you've got some skeletons in your closet that he knows about.
Hey, I actually gave a honest and sincere answer.....give me a thumbs up folks!

oooohhhh, dont think too much about it!
It could be anything, really. 'unfortunately' could be just a concerned thought about his friend, because having a long distance relationship is hard, and his friend may be worried he is suffering!
Its not worth to think about it! u wont gess what he mean.
If ur worried, talk openly about it to him (dont say u overheard...)
But talk about how u feel, and about what ur friends think about this relationship. Maybe knowing what he thinks about the situation helps u feeling less 'paranoid' and think his friend wants u to break up!
good luck with that.... LDRs are very hard, but very rewarding :)

You stated yourself you are a long distance away from each other, pretty tough thing for a relationship to handle, hence the "unfortunately"

I would assume there's some sort of barrier to his total "bliss", just as there always is.
