I am making a caramel pecan pie. What can I subtitute for milk? The recipe calls for caramels, sugar, milk,salt, vanilla extract and butter

What recipe will you be using it in??? A lot of times subbing out buttermilk for regular milk make a real difference in the taste of things that you're making.....especially if you're cooking the particular recipe......

ADDENDUM:
You can use the buttermilk in your pie, the flavor and texture will be a bit more "cheescake" like, but in my professional opinion, it will work out fine....

Depends on the recipe. Buttermilk does not have the same fat content, it will taste different
what is the recipe? If it's Mashed Potatoes or Pancakes, sure..

Just go ahead and try it with buttermilk. You might like it better than the "real" recipe.

Yes, you definitely can. Milk and cultured buttermilk are not all that different, so it will work.

Yes you can always sub one liquid for another! You can't use butter milk in pecan pie. you need milk. if you were making bread rolls or cake you could sub but not certain pies!

no u cant butter milk has no flavor as same as milk.. and if u r boiling it or something it will turn really yucky so no i guess
