So i am 13 and soon i will be 14. i will get a dog soon. i am in love with dobermans. i have one and he is the best dog ever. but since i already have one i would like a different breed. i live on a 5 acers and have a large fenced in feild that has a gate around it and 2 other dogs in it so the dog would need to be ok with other dogs. i love big dogs. i would prefer one with hair no longer then a german shepard. i would like it to be a little pertective. i would be able to get it out for about 2-3 hours a day and i know how to take care of dogs. i would like it to be a obeident dog because i would like to keep it off the leash at my house i dont have any little siblings and well if anyone has any suggestions on a breed please tell me.

Golden Retreivers are THE BEST for this kind of need you are talking about.

But the answer saying you could rescue a pup or young dog from the animal shelter is an excellent idea, as long as you are good with figuring out the temperment of a mixed breed dog.............

Before you get any new dog, do you know if your current dog gets along with other animals? Dobes tend to be very protective and aggressive, and you don't want to put a new animal in any danger. Also, when you said "get it out for 2-3 hours a day", do you mean it will be locked up or penned for the other 21-22 hours?
Obedience is going to come with training, so you can't expect any dog to come in a pre-set package.
If you are really serious about getting another dog, have your parents go to the humane society and explain you would like another dog, and they will guide you from there.

I suggest a golden retriever. They are the best dogs in the world. I've never met a sweeter, more loving, caring, happy dog in my life. They love children, adults, men, woman, dogs, cats. They are amazing animals. I love this breed. I've only had positive experiences with my golden retriever.

Otherwise I would recommend a black, brown, or yellow lab. Great companions. Get along with other dogs.

Labs!!! But I prefer German Shepherds! Mine loves to play soccer. If you don't like the length of their hair, just cut it off!!!

go to the shelter and you'll fall in love with one there! breeds don't make a heck of a lot of difference.

Labs are good companions and very docile. Blue heelers are good in nature too.
