With scriptures like the above, why are most Christians not confused? To inherit something means that it belongs to them. This could mean that the earth belongs to meek ones in heaven...but most Christians believe that the earth will be destroyed at Armageddon so what's the point in that, and what's the point in even having the earth if you don't live on it.

Or, it could mean that the meek belong to the earth as an abode. If the meek have the whole world to themselves, that means that they are the only ones on earth. i.e. the earth is full of meek people.

Well it is no marvel that you are confused since you don't seem to understand that Armageddon will be the battle where the forces of Satan that have held sway over mankind will be defeated and the Kingdom of Jesus the Messiah (Christ) will be established in the Earth. At that time all true believers will be raised in immortal bodies like the resurrection body of the Lord Jesus and rule with Him as His vice-regents over the Earth for 1000 years. Then the Scripture will be fulfilled that says the Meek shall inherit the Earth.

I crave the day that we, the meek, will inherit the earth.
I know that it's Jehovah's purpose for us to live on this earth that's why he created it to be inhabited.
If He had wanted us in heaven, He would have set aside a place for us there, but He gave us this beautiful planet and I am truly grateful and I get antsy just waiting to see this promise fulfilled.

A lot of people in Christendom just like confusion and having something to bicker over.....even though the truth is plain and simple. Maybe they will get it before the end comes.
Peace

This passage is very clear from a spiritual standpoint. Truth removes the blindness of material sense for the meek, and therefore the meek inherit the earth (because they can see, while the others are still blind)

its means after the armageddon, after the wicked is destroyed... The ones that remain, that have found Gods favor, will inherit the earth. There will always be humans on earth. At that point and time, it will be only the meek that are still here on the earth.

God's original purpose for the earth. For mankind to live in Paradise conditions that were expanded from the Garden of Eden. If Satan didn't mess things up, we would be living that way now.

So, will we live our lives according to the way Satan wants us to live, or Jehovah God's way so we will inherit the earth? I sure do like Jehovah's way better.

Great question Bro.

It means that those who are meek will be the leaders on earth.
I don't think it says anywhere in the Bible that the earth is going to be "destroyed at Armageddon."

I know what you mean Paul. After awhile of answering questions on here and trying to get people to use discernment. I've found that it's kinda futile to argue reason with most people. So that's why I haven't been on here in awhile. After alot of prayer and getting my priorities straight. I've found the door to door ministry work more spiritually fulfilling. Not discouraging you from continuing to reason with people. Because it does have its benefits. It's just that I felt like I was beating a dead horse so to speak at times. But continue on brother continue on. Agape!

Will planet Earth be destroyed in a nuclear war?

What does the Bible show to be God’s purpose regarding the earth?

Matt. 6:10: “Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.”

Ps. 37:29: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”

Why would I be confused? The bible says there will one day be a new heaven and a new earth. I will be an inheritor since I am an heir to all things through Jesus Christ.

God will create a new heaven and a new Earth. I think we will be able to freely move between the two.
