I'm just a regular girl, i think i know what i want but when it boils down to it i really have no idea. I have a boyfriend that i've been with for over a year. I'd say he's my first 'love' --as corny as that sounds. anyways he became a huge slacker over the course of our relationship and i'm not sure that i really like that about him, and the thing is, theres this other guy that i sort of developed a bit of a 'crush' on for lack of a better word. The other guy actually goes to school and gets good marks, and i like. At the same time, i still see a huge amount of potential in my boyfriend and i live his easy-going personality, its just that sometimes he annoys the hell out of me and he has terrible habbits and a bad work ethic. Does anyone have any suggestions on what i should do about this?

well. obviously he doesnt have any potential right now, and right now is the time that you should enjoy. you shouldnt be with him just cause he WILL have potential in the future. i think that you should move on, and you did give him time to..adjust..i mean its been over a year! and sometimes taking a risk is something that you need. maybe this new guy will be a good change and make you realize that the guy now really isnt for you. since you are doubting your relationship now..how do you think you will feel another year down the road..?? wouldnt you always question "what if i was with someone else"? so yeah.....go for it =] have fun with it...youre just dating, youre not tied down!

The phrase "The honeymoon is over" steps in here.

Remember how you felt when you started going out with him? He was the greatest guy ever to you.

If you bought a new car, it'd get old, and in a few years you'd be looking at newer cars thinking they're better.

Your boy is who he is, and you are bringing these things up because somebody looks better than he does in certain areas. Don't dump your current boyfriend because he isn't perfect.

I would say talk to him is going to be the best course of action. Not only will it free your mind, and enable you to call things off with him if he is going "no where", but it can also open the lines of communication which may help you guys both out alot. One thing you always need in a relationship other than trust is communication. You never know, he may be feeling he wants out, or that he is not sure where to direct his life and would like your input.

Yeah dont make any wedding plans until you see how he does on his own once he has graduated and left home.Otherwise you might be supporting him.
