No. I live in the NOW and therefore doesn't need such a thing.

What is the foundation then of conscience? If conscience is just a set of feeling that we gained somehow, somewhere over the course of our lives, what moral authority would it have over us? What obligation do we have to feelings? None that I know of.
In Dickens, "A Christmas Carol", the spirit is trying to explore Scrooge's conscience when Scrooge says, "You may be an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese..." Now what is the moral authority of a conscience based on that?
We're trained by society in developing a conscience. Before the Civil War in the US, people in the south were trained by their society not to apply the same standards of conscience to the slaves. Thus showing that conscience by itself is a poor foundation for morality.

Having a conscience has nothing to do with religion. Having a guilty conscience is probably influenced by religion.
Of course I have a conscience, but I refuse to feel guilty for something that I don't believe in.

Agreed. It's funny how people think they are good because they are seeking a reward or fearing a punishment. It's the mental equivalency of teaching a dog to roll over. Not saying they only have that mental capacity, but that's how they deal with the issue of morality.
Sounds like a Christopher Hitchens quote.

I do have a conscience (I think...it's been a while since my last morality check-up). And I do agree with this statement.

I certainly hope that's a conscience and not a rather ill-mannered troll living in my skull.

Everyone has a conscience. It just depends on if you want to use it or not.

Totally agreed. It's frightening how many people need a "reason" to treat people with respect and dignity.
