It would have to follow the same format as God of War 1 and 2 and have several levels and bosses. Any ideas about what the plot would be for the 3rd installment?

Yes. At the end of God of War II, there's sort of like a teaser that leads to God of War III.
Zeus is still alive. At the end of God of War II, we found out that Athena replaced Zeus. So, Zeus is still a god that hasn't been taken down yet. Hera is still around. Aphrodite is still around.
According to the teaser, Kratos is going to take down all the Greek gods with the help of the Titans.

There is going to be a God of War 3 for the PS3. I haven't played God of War 2 yet... I just haven't got around to buying it yet but I will. I have the first God of War though.
I really don't know what the 3rd game could be about, but I'm sure that David Jaffe has something really good up his sleeve for the 3rd God of War.

They could use the titans, they were what existed before the gods. Zeus' father was a titan. So Kratos will probably do favors for and/or kill them next.

so far what i heard about GOW 3 is this, it will be coming out November 2008 the plot will not follow roman mythology and i think that the plot is he will end up betraying the titans that helped him or the whole game will just be about getting rid of the gods. like i said earlier the bosses will be either titans or gods.
Oh yeah i heard that David Jaffe left the company but still keeps in touch.
