Creativity is important. Fantasy is important. Fiction is important.
The danger is when we are so heavily inundated with fantasy that reality is unclear.

I agree with you that we live in a world so immersed in fantasy that most people can't distinguish any more between what is true and what is an illusion.
I also know that if you don't believe the Truth, you will believe the Lie.
This is what Paul predicted:
"For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.
Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;
that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders,
and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.
For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false,
in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness."
II Thessalonians 2:7-12

Imagination is an integral part of being human. Imagination is connected with intelligence. A scientist or mathematician with out imagination is going know where in his job. All research begins or involves ideas which is imagination-what if this happens, what if we do such and such, lets experiment and find out. Religion uses imagination to envisage God, whom we know little about and try to understand our relationship with it. The translation of the Bible and the preaching of many uses imagination to make the subject understandable. A world with out imagination is existence with out a future. A world with out imagination is unimaginable.

What has any of this to do with the possible existence of god? I can imagine a one-eyed one-horned flying purple people eater, but that does not give an objective existence to such a thing. (P.S. I like short shorts.)

The objection is not imagination, but imposing imagination, and pretending it is reality. Unsound doctrine is falling to the wayside as you read this. Your choice is to cling to the lies, or embrace reality.

I see your mom backed her pickup truck over your leg again. You need to go back to the Free Clinic and ask them for a different pain medication, because the one you are taking now is making you jabber nonsense.

im not sure i understand what your saying.
the difference between those and religion. is people live religion.
people dont really think that will and grace exist... people dont think that video games are real... (when they do, they are committed with mental problems)
its not that imagination or fantasy is wrong. its that assume those are both a reality is.
