I am not religious, but I always put money in their tin, as they genuinely help those in need. They also have a database of people who want to find lost relations, it's how my sister found Mum's long-lost cousins. You don't have to pay a fee, but they appreciate donations.

Absolutely! The Salvation Army is always there to offer assistance in the way of food & clothing in cases of fire, floods, and other disasters. I pray everyone will drop some coins or dollars in the red containers this Christmas season to support this worthwhile organization, as the Lord blesses those who help others in need. Merry Christmas to you too, and God bless you!!!

Did you know that the guy who is the CEO of the Salvation Army gets a $2 million per year salary? Pretty good for not having to pay for any of his inventory, employees are mostly volunteer, and all the stuff is a little bit overpriced for being free stuff. Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents worth in here. I'm sure they do some great stuff, but the top execs are getting pretty rich off it...
I personally like to donate to the smaller thrift stores that support local stuff, like the local animal shelter, the local schools, the local rescue mission and women's shelter, the local hospice center for dying old people, and stuff like that. They need it more than the salvation army does.
The founder of University of Metaphysical Sciences could be really rich if she wanted to, but i admire that she doesn't fall for the temptation. She lives a really modest life, and here's some of her comments about money and how she sees her part in using it in the world for the good of humanity... http://www.umsonline.org/Donations/FullArticleMoneyMetaphysicsMetaphysicalUniversityChristineBreese.htm
Here's a course about the Energy of Money that the University teaches, with some free excerpts about it at http://www.ucmeta.org/Pages/Articles/Money/DIRCreatingMoneyWealth.html
Oh, and the guy who owns Costco is really modest too and treats all his employees really well, pays fairly, and still only gives himself $350,000 a year, even though he could give himself a lot more.

Yes I do.I think it is a wonderful organization. they do so much good for the needy. I will always support them. God must have put them there. they are out in the cold collecting for those that can't afford the necessary things to get by.I give them a lot of praise for all that they do. I give the Lord all the praise for making such caring people. It must make them feel very rewarded when they commit to such a good cause. God Bless them all. You all have a very Merry Christmas. Please remember the real meaning of Christmas. The birth Of Jesus our Lord.

My dear friend who died in 2001 worked for the Salvation Army for 25 years, she was a secretary and not in the army. She was a lesbian, by the way.
The Salvation Army helped me pay for electricity several times in the past, for which I am grateful.

Yes, I support them. They do a lot of good works. We donate clothing and food to their food bank throughout the year and of course at Christmas to the bell ringers.

Yes and our Government's should make sure they keep going no matter what. Down through the years, where would those in want and need be without them. God and man's volunteers, where would many of us be without them.
God Bless
