How many atheists out there actually like Christians? Even at a most humanistic stand point? Do they have more problems with God or gods?

Im afraid your correct. I am an atheist, and Im amazed how fixated on Christianty, most atheists appear to be, without out the first mention of the specter of Islam.

Personally, outside of non-leftist atheists (the few that exist), I feel most aligned with Christians, although I have a hard time not trying to "enlighten" my Christian friends.

I cant explain this Christian-fixated leftist phenomena in the atheist ranks, other than to say, it make me sick. Nietzsche reviled the left, as I do, and he was the greatest atheist to ever live.

Many of the people closest to me are Christians. I don't even know how to reconcile the idea of hating a group that someone I care about is part of. Most Christians are just fine in my book. I don't always agree with them, but if I were looking for a world in which everyone agreed with me all the time, I'd spend a lot of time being disappointed.

As far as having problems with God or gods... well, no. I don't have a belief in God or gods. That pretty much covers it.

I am an atheist, and my best friend is a Christian. We respect each other's differing thoughts and opinions, and have intelligent discussions about them. We have so much more in common, and have a great friendship, I'm not going to let a little thing like religion ruin it. She respects me, so in turn, I respect her. I only dislike the Christians who try and shove fliers in my hand when I'm on campus, or come knocking on my door blabbering about hell fire and damnation. That's just rude, to disrespect another's beliefs b/c they do not mimic your own. No, I do not have an issue with god(s) because I do not believe in them. I cannot have a problem with something I do not believe is there to create a problem.

I know plenty of Xians that I like. One of my best friends is a Jehovah's Witness. The only ones I ever seem to have a "problem" with are the online fundies. I'd bet 9 out of 10 of them would not dare to spew the things they spew online if they ever met some of us face-to-face.

I think the reason you perceive atheists as anti-Xian is that not many people of other religions come to forums like this and continually direct questions at atheists. For that matter, people of other religions seem to be a lot more open-minded than Xians and don't keep trying to draw us into holier-than-thou "debates."

i'm not a scientist via any skill, yet i'm a Christian. besides the undeniable fact that, I do have self belief that technological understanding reinforces Christianity - particularly introduction. not one of the non secular scientists will admit to it nevertheless, that could desire to be to them like admitting they have self belief, you be attentive to, believing in something you won't be able to work out. yet I ask you, which demands extra faith? To have self belief that a sovereign, appropriate God created the heavens and the earth, and each thing else, in simple terms because of the fact the bible states, or to have self belief that there became entire nothingness, then immediately 2 airborne dirt and dust debris in area appeared at one yet another and stated, "whats up, ya wanna carry close out a whilst?" properly that each and one and started the ball rolling and till now you be attentive to it, they have have been given an entire block celebration happening, till finally they have formed a planet. Or became it a solar? properly it do not remember because of the fact somebody lit a firecracker, and it became throughout. subsequently, the massive bang theory. Then in simple terms via accident, something starts orbiting around something else, till the third rock from the solar develops an ecosystem. Then there became countless continental dividing happening, then someplace interior the very own areas of the oceans, something wiggled. you be attentive to, i might even have believed it up for this reason a tactics. That little microscopic piece of slime, after thousands, possibly even billions of years controlled to wiggle its way onto a coastline someplace. To make a protracted tale short, it grew palms, legs, and a mustache, (the sense of right and incorrect did not come for yet another week or so), and here we are interior the area age. Yeah, i'm an instantaneous descendant from an ameoba. Puleeze!!!

Zero Atheists are anti-Christian. Its just that Christian insist on getting in their faces and trying to "prove" them wrong. How someone else believes or doesnt believe does not affect me in the least so I don't feel at all threatened by it.

I am going to let you in on something. You cannot logically prove there is a God. Greater minds than yours have tried for the past 2000 years and they have not been able to. I dont know what you got on your SAT scores but I can assure you that you are not a thinker along the lines of a Immanuel Kant or Rene Descartes. So as long as you choose to play in the arena of logic or scientific proof, you are going to get buried.
You cannot get to God through scientific proof or through the use of faulty syllogisms. Stop trying as you only succeed in making yourself look foolish.

Live and let live.

Atheists focus mainly on Christianity they have a very poor opinion of other religions and don't attack those religions because they do not see it as a threat. Here is a good example :they claim Jesus never existed;but do not claim the same of Mohammmed. If they acknowledged the existence of Jesus they would be forced to acknowledge the miracles and his incredible teachings.

Actually I just don't believe in God.
I am awfully tired of religions trying to force conversions and killing those who do not believe, and when I hear Christian preachers calling for the death penalty for those who are not of their faith I feel it is wrong not to speak out against them. If Christians were not so supportive of those who want to kill me I might consider being a bit more moderate. But until your preachers of hate are publically condemned, the answer is war against religion..

i think you could say anti-christianity as far as the christian themself no but, i keep hearing this thing that Atheism is a logical choice when it really has nothing to do with logic. Actually it's illogical to say there is no God when you think that if things are beyond your understanding then it must not be possible or real.

Most Atheists are anti Christianity's forcing itsekf into scools , courts , Congress , wtc.
Most Atheists are anti Christians calling them people without morals who are hurting society , and that they will burn in hell . Actually it is the Bible Thumpers ( and Qu'ran Thumpers) we are against . Most of my Christian friends ( Also Jewish , Hindu ,...) and I have no problems because we enjoy life without pushing our beliefs down each others throats .
