Just politely tell her, I'm sorry, but I don't feel comfortable discussing my finances with anyone but my husband.

It's your husband's call to talk to his mother. And if you mother in law won't talk to him but would rather bug you instead (like my monster-in law) stay tight lipped and only tell her this " if you wish to talk about this, talk to your son, I have nothing else to say on this matter." End it like that. Be firm but polite. If she continues to act up, leave the room. God bless you! I know exactly what your going through. I feel for you sister!

i had the same problem with my mother in law. and all ican say is that trying to be sutil, and not hurt her feelings, is not the way cos she'll et offended anyways. so just be honest and straight fwd and either you, or have your husband tel her, you know what , we dont feel comfortable sharing this with you. im sorry .
hope it works out. good luck.

it may get to a point where you'll have to get nasty. first, tell her that your finances are none of her concern and you don't wish to discuss them. if she doesn't get the hint, you'll have to get vocal.
