I mean if you noticed is the same remote since the Ps1-Ps3 the only new think is the sixaxis thing with out the vibration
i like the ps3 but why can't the remote be different from past consoles i did pay $600 but i have been paying for the same remote 3 times already i just think they should have made something better such as the first ps3 seen in picture

As said above but also the Ergonomics of the classic PS controller is hard to fault.

I'm glad that the controller didn't change. Nintendo changed the look of thier console and controller after each console and I just think that it's too much change.
Like one other person said, there was a "Boomerang" PS3 controller, but that was just an experimental controller. I'm glad that Sony didn't change the controller. Like the old saying goes, "If it ain't broke, Don't fix it". There was nothing wrong with the controller so their was no need to change it.

instead of using the boomerang at the last second they decided to use the motion sensing and later in 2008 there will be a controller for ps3 with motion sensing and vibration. its gonna be called the dualshock 3

The banana shape was way to uncomfortable and looked wacked. It looked like a booma rang on something illegal. Anyway the ps3 controller has motion sensing controls and is different in that respect.

why did xbox keep the same controllers? i think its better to stay with the same design because people are comfortable with it. i would never gotten a ps3 if they kept that boomerang design. ugh i would never imagine myself using that controller

They were going to do the "Batarang" in the picture, but people mocked them for the design (I thought it was good), so they decided against it and went back to what they'd always done.
Sony is scared of change.

the way the the controller is shaped is perfect
there is no way i am going to use that bommerang
