I have a family member that is always doing something great. At least they make it look like that. They always brag about their great adventures and how well their life is going. Then after they do that they look at me and ask me a question, i answer and they just look at me with this blank look on their face and say 'oh'. Are they really trying to make it look like their life is wonderful and mine sucks or am i just insecure because I dont measure up?

If you feel insecure, why?
You make the rules for what's "great" to you,
not them.
They do what they want to do and enjoy it.
You do what you want to do and if you don't
enjoy it you do something else.

The key word in your whole topic is :
They always brag. I quess if you have to brag , then maybe your life isn't all that exciting after all. Just be yourself and don't worry about it. Enjoy what makes you happy and don't worry about the other persons life.
