I had a dream of me being in a train and than this guy came in and sat on the seat next to mine. He than pulled out a gun and shot some people. I didn't know how to feel but I think I was a little afraid later partially because he promised that he'd kill me last. Somehow I got out of the train, by fighting him off I think, and since the door closed he couldn't come after me therefore I managed to escape.
In the second part of the dream I remember being with family outside at night and I was having trouble catching up with them but I thought they went into this alley road so I ran in there to join them. It was so dark and I could barely see any of my surroundings except for a few trees but very slightly. I struggled so much to see anything and sometimes I spotted people walking by which is something I knew from seeing black shapes of humans but when I got closer to check if they were any of my family members I found out over and over again that they were just unfamiliar faces. Whenever I spotted something I used to get my hopes up but than end up feeling disappointed to find out that they weren't the ones I was searching to find. Than I heard the voices of my parents calling me and saying that they weren't at the place where I was looking to find them. I followed their voices and found myself in an environment with daylight and grass everywhere. My family was there and they were having a picnic. I tried to talk to them but for the most part they couldn't hear me or see me. My presence was almost always unnoticed and it was as if I were a ghost. A few times I was heard and the answers I received were short but even this rarely happened.

Thanks for the comment "beatlefan" but I cant say that I'm an angry person. Maybe I have my times but my main desire is to be at peace and when I do feel some anger most of the time it's directed toward myself. I'm not sure but perhaps the family in my dream doesnt really represent my real family. It can be metaphorical of searching to find a sense of belonging(it's one possibility). The people I saw in the dark most likely represent the individuals I encounter and I remember often getting my hopes up wanting them to become special people in my life but I keep realizing over and over again that I have been seeing things in the dark and feelings of disappointment are very common. Often people are not who they make you think they are and sooner or later you find out that they are not what you have been searching for all along.
I'm not sure how to put everything together though.
If anyone can give me an opinion I thank you for it.

One thing I would add though is that moment before entering the place where my family was having a picnic in daylight, I remember having this belief that they would not hear me or notice my presence except for a few times. It was as if I was expecting it or predicting the future.

The world can be an unfriendly place -- even hostile and violent, as the first part of your dream indicates. Even when the hostility isn't directed at you, as in your experiences in the alley, there is much about the world which that fails to meet your needs. You can look for that friendly face, some people who you can relate to, but become disappointed they are few and far between. In this dark world we all experience, there is one beacon of light -- your family. They are a dependable source of love and support, especially when the rest of the world passes us by. But, you spend a good part of your time away from your family so they aren't always there when you need them. But you think about them and even just thinking about them gives you a great deal of comfort when you are out in the world. In fact, they gave you relief from the anxiety-producing alley which symbolized the world away from your family. Your encounter with your family on a picnic was a mental visit -- a memory that helps you process the outside world.

I've scanned over some of your q and a's, I didn't do a thorough reading, but based on what I saw there, and here, I would like to suggest that you should consider counseling to help you become more assertive, and learn how to express anger without feeling like a jerk or something. I feel that the guy with the gun represents a situation that you're angry about, and you are afraid of your anger. You clearly feel like an outsider where your family is concerned, and as you are struggling through the darkness to find them, you are having trouble seeing the situation clearly. Once you do find them, you find them in a situation where every thing is just hunky-dory for them, but when you need to get their attention, you can't make yourself seen or heard. Between this, and some of the things I read in your q and a's, I have gotten the impression that you are struggling with issues of how to go about asserting yourself, and some people around you have offered a picture of the wrong way to express anger, and you know what they are doing is the wrong thing to do. I also get the impression, though, that you are struggling with what it means to be "nice" also, though. There is an appropriate way to assert yourself, to express anger, and still be a nice person. "Nice" doesn't mean just take whatever others want to dish out, just to keep the peace, and getting angry, or having needs doesn't mean you aren't a nice person. You do have a right to stand up for yourself, and to express yourself if something is wrong. Women are conditioned by society to feel that standing up for yourself isn't "nice", and that if you do you are aggressive, or a (rhymes with stitch), and because of this, women often don't speak up for themselves enough, or express anger when it is appropriate to do so. There is a right way, and a right time to be angry, maybe some assertiveness training, or anger management training would help........Good luck.............
Edit: I'm not saying that you're an angry person, far from it....I am saying that you're afraid to get angry about a situation when it's appropriate, and try too hard to be "nice" and keep the peace at the expense of your self esteem, and afraid that getting angry when it's appropriate would mean that you're not a "nice" person.........

This dream is less about someone who wants to do you harm than it is about some situation in your life. The train would appear to be your life some path you are traveling. The people on the train are some aspect of your life. The gun could be representative of some anger and, aggression being shown by someone else toward you or, your anger toward others. Alternatively it could be someone who would like to have a physical relationship with you. It is possible that you have recently ended a relationship with someone you feel has been unfaithful.
The second part of the dream is mostly a repeat of the first dream. The alley is some road you are traveling in life. Your family could in fact be your family or, some aspect of your own life. Seeing trees in a dream is almost always indicative of other people in your life. It would appear that you are searching for that special someone in your life but, have yet to find them. It would seem that you need to listen more to your heart and, mind follow your own path. When you do this things should become brighter.

Dreams are meant to sort out the days' events in your head so that you can process the things that impacted you and be ready for the next dys' troubles and all.
This dream was about the society having to deal with these random attacks of violence, and the next part was about your helplessness to control the situation, and whether you can stay safe in this orld.
The people that ignored you means' you are feeling isolated from people and not sure that you have any real friends who will listen to you and therefore, will hear your fears all the way through to the end.
You don't feel secure with familiar people, as they don't realize the problems that you as a young person have to deal with, when the world is so crazy as it is now.
Keep trying to pick a good, quiet time to share and relate to people, when they are not busy or pre-occupied.
The Lord never laughs' at our fears, and will never let us down, always dependable.
If we know that He love's us, then we will feel no fear, becuse He is taking care for us, and is in control of the world.
Talk to Him, turning yourself, just the way you are, to His guidance and companionship, when you hear Him inside your heart. Then read the Bible, go to church, and start praying.

Hi,
First let me tell you that dreams sometimes bounces off of television shows we have seen previously. What we see in our everyday world, sometimes stores itself in our memory bank (self consciousness) only to manifest in our dreams.
Now, with that said...I also feel that you have goals set for yourself but you are unsure of rather or not you will be successful at it. The dream indicates to me that you want to be heard when you are talking and maybe you are not getting your point across at times when you really want too. I also get from the dream that you are a strong woman and can fight when pushed. However, you prefer not to have to fight to get your point across. Some of your interest/goals may not be acceptable by your Friends/family members. If that is the case, so what! Continue to explore. Build your confidence.
Don't always look for approval from others because when they are ready they will do what they want to, no mater what you say. P.S buy a couple of books on dream interpretation.

Dreams are of 3 kinds:
1. Dreams due to stomach upset/digestive problems. They are wierd in nature, scenes slipping into other scenes, without any logic. Just ignore them
2. Negative Dreams; These dreams are under the influence of devil or jenes. They are usually horrifying, involved with killing, snakes, fear and chaos. Be careful, they are a warning of bad events.
3. Positive Dreams; These dreams are divine guidance and promiss glad tidings.
Every culture and religion has a particular interpretation for a similar dream and the specialist have suggestions how to avoid the negative effect.
The first type of dream has to be ignored.
The third type, the positive type dream has to be interpreted with care. Since it brings good news and good luck.
Note: a false interpretaion of dream can completely reverse the effect the good effect of a dream. Therefore, interpretation has to be serious and genuine.
Mr Sigmund Freud, the father of Psychoanalysi, had developed his own theory about dreams, which I dont appreciate much. His interpretation usually fit in the first category referred above.
You have to worry about dream no 2. They really influence you psychologically and physically. If corrective action is not taken in time, their effect can be really hurting.
The second category of dreams requires careful interpretation. These type of dreams are warning you of an incidence or an accident taht may occur to you. Understanding them will help you avoid the disaster.
In Islamic culture the best remedy to avoid the ill effect of the second category -negative dreams-is by calling God's help in banishing the ill effect of deveil and praying a special type of suppliation and not telling the dream to anybody. The guaranteed result is that the devils ill effect is fully eliminated.
I have experienced this successfully
Your dream is a mixture of 1st and second type. Have too olittle time o go into details

Maybe you have been reading the news stories lately about a guy shooting up people at the mall and another guy shooting up people at a church and sub-consciously you are worried that something like that could happen to you.
The part of your dream where you can't find your family speaks to the thought that you feel better protected when you are with people who love you and your fear is that if something bad happens they won't be around to help you out.

Dreams are your subconscious putting your desires and fears into pictures and emotions. Guns and bullets can be a phallic symbol (sex). Shadow people can be stereotype images of your shadow side that you don't show the world. Sounds like you want to connect with relatives on the other side, but you feel like they can't hear you or communicate with you.
A good book on dreams is Tom Chetwynd's How to Interpret Your Dreams. Try used book stores, ebay, or amazon.com. It is an oldie and bases dream interpretations on Jung's ideas of psychology...

The train represents a journey through life. The ghost represents memories, feelings, evidents of traumas from past hurts. The gun represents past hurts and aggression. It sounds like your are feeling inadequate and invisible in life. Perhaps it would help to talk to someone to get out your feelings and hurts.
