It will not let me install any themes or add ons, and the one theme that somehow manged to get installed will not show up. it just remains the default theme, and i can not uninstall my extra theme (aquatint black)
I've been trying to completely uninstall it, but i cant seem to manage it! i've tried reinstalling it.

Ahh... I remember when I had this and reinstalling failed, I was getting mad until I found out it was a bug in Firefox. there is something about it in the MozillaZine about it. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_Issues_:_Can't_Install_Themes_or_Extensions

What worked for me was deleting the following files from my Firefox profile folder:
"extensions.ini" "extensions.cache" "extensions.rdf"

you may also need this URL to locate your profiles folder: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox

I'm always amazed. Most people don't understand that reinstalling is a long time-consuming process and you wind up losing lots of stuff you didn't realize, like settings. I think there's an epidemic going around - everyone wants to "wipe and reload" like it's playing on MySpace or something.
The only time you need to reformat and reinstall is if you have unrecoverable corruption of the operating system. Then you need the original disks that came with the computer for starters.

In any case, here you are. Based on your question, I suspect you should have taken your computer to an expert to do the reinstall. That's my suggestion now.
