Paganism has been pretty much destroyed by Christianity and Islam and isn't likely to become big again (and religions that could be classified as Pagan are being destroyed in the developing world by missionaries that are converting people to Christianity and Islam).
Atheism and Agnosticism aren't religions but they probably are the biggest threat that every religion faces since people are abandoning religion at a very rapid rate in the developed world (thus meaning that the increase in the number of atheists is mostly at the expense of Christianity) and the developing world will probably end up following eventually.
The rise of those who don't have a religion has been the fastest in history and doesn't look like it's going to be abating any time soon (or ever).
The only large religion that is actually gaining right now is Islam and that's only because of fertility, everything else including Christianity is losing ground (and religions need to be able to get converts to destroy other religions and without persecution they just don't seem able to actually get enough for a net gain).

I was raised as a catholic and to my knowledge they are not threatened by anyone, either in terms of attitude or realism. They currently number aproximately 2 billion people. That's a third of the planet, and still growing. Why would the Church feel threatened and by what? They're doing fine as far as I can see and I can see pretty well - objectively - since I'm non-theist but still have a full contingent of devoutly catholic relatives and quite a few friends too. I assure you they are not trembling before atheism or agnositicm or paganism or anything. When you look at the demographics for such groups the idea that they would be any kind of threat to the Church is frankly rather laughable.

um...I'm quite sure that no religion intentionally sets out to "threaten" Christiainity....just there are some fundamentalist Christians that think everything in the world is a threat.
As for your answer, Atheism and Agnosticism are NOT religions. they are the opposite. and paganism, also not a religion.

In what way does any other religion, or lack of religion 'threaten' Christianity?
There are more Christians alive today than there have ever been. They hold considerable political influence in many nations, and continue to oppress and persecute other beliefs.
Just how many Christians have been burned at the stake at the hands of pagans or atheists? Compare that with the number that Christians have burned, murdered, infected with smallpox, forcibly converted, or Crusaded against, and it seems like Christianity is the greatest threat to any other religion.

that is totally lots a 2 way concern isn't it? i've got had some awful issues stated to me via christians because of the fact i don't think in God. because of the fact they do have self belief in God they think of it supplies them the appropriate to threaten me with proxy violence (hell and damnation) or mean that i'm some style of savage. The christians are each bit as undesirable because of the fact the atheists. the only difference is which you 'think of' you have have been given God on your facet, so that is okay to assert those issues. while if i say it... then that is very own. because of the fact i don't think in God, i myself do not distinguish. There fairly are not any worse persons that the 'non secular' for exhibiting entire disrespect for what others have self belief, no remember if that is yet another faith or no faith in any respect. Believing there is no God, is a have self belief. that is not a vacuum. that's the only factor that makes any sense to me. the only factor i think in is sweet human beings. i don't care who or what they are.... and whats up!!! you're for sure an extremely respectable chap : ) you will additionally be conscious that I spell God with a capital G... that is largely out of appreciate for the persons who have self belief in it/ him.

It is the art of using one's common sense (reason and logic) to realise that Christianity (and other world religions also) does not hold up to it's claims.
And of course, this is holding back the progress of the world, into universal understanding and world peace.
To unite people with common beliefs and values, etc etc.
Christianity certainly can't do this - and neither can other world religions - because they are all false.

Atheism and Agnosticism are not religions.
I'd say the biggest threat to Christianity is the splintering of the denominations. For example, my doctrine is the only correct one and everyone else is a heretic even though they're all readying the same book.

Christianity threatens Christianity the most, for it is the misbehavior of Christians that does the greatest damage to our faith. The tiny little pinpricks of atheism and paganism are nothing compared to what self-righteous and uncharitable Christians do against Christ.
