You could work for Cargill, Maschoff's, MFA, any state or federal Ag dept., your local farm and feed supply store....
Why pick a major that you have no idea what it involves? You may have to actually work on a farm!

This major can be broad.
Farmer or Sales person, even Ag journalism.
If sales, you must be willing to be flexible and change.
To have a succesful career or just have a job from age 22-72
Might be surverying and marketing eggs a year out of college,
but 5 years later it might be clothing, auto parts, banking, insurance etc.
Good Luck!

Do you enjoy working with numbers? You could work into a position in banking as a lender or possibly be an appraiser of farmland. Dependent upon your location talk with your local branch of the Farm Credit Services, again this is lending. Are you into sales... any number of ag biz's out there needing motivated young blood. Everything in life depends on how willing you are to be flexible, willing to work with others and be focused on your goals. Real estate is very lucrative, attain a real estate license and learn the ropes, pick up some biz savvy and you could do very well for yourself.

Good choice! Especially with the environmental movement moving forward. This and others will be part of a new age of business in the future e.g. in part with energy. It’s as if we will see Jefferson’s and Hamilton’s views of America finally come together and hopefully make perfect harmony.
But yeah, ask your professors they should be able to help more.

Business is business. I have several friends with Ag Business or Ag Management degrees who are now working outside of agriculture, but are still using their business or marketing degrees. So you don't necessarily need to be tied to agriculture.
And I read somewhere that about 50% of people are working in a career outside of their education. (I am one of them.)

What school do you go to. Can you ask the colleges advisers.
See what companies recruite at your school.
Most farming is done by large Agri-businesses, I'm sure
that they have all kinds of positions.
