Ask yourself why you believe what you believe. When you have the answer, ask yourself why you believe it to be true. When you have that answer, ask yourself why you believe that to be true. Trace your belief system back to its most basic root, the thing that you base all of your other beliefs on. Now, why do you believe this fundamental proposition? Is it self-evident? Is it an assumption?

Humans have feelings. That is the root of my beliefs. To be honest, I don't always know what I believe and I am fine with changing my mind throughout the years. But I will always believe that the most important moral is treating other people like they have feelings. Treating them like they feel the same things I do, remembering that they get cold, hungry and lonely just like me. This is the one constant that I know to be true and the one constant that I can positively act on.

You sort of need to step out of mind-set. Buddhism isn't a faith, guy made it a faith. It is rather a philosophy of a tradition and residing existence is an schooling. Within buddhism there's an popularity of others and the best way they're and feel. So given all that it's not sudden. The Chinese each feel in Taoism, Confucianism and Buddhism. The Japanese are each Buddhist and Shinto. And believing in Creatures, Demons, and so on. isn't so much one of a kind than the Druids or some thing. The American indians feel within the spirit of the land and and so on. I wish this is smart.

Because I found what answered the longing I've felt since I was a child, a religion and culture that answers my most basic nature and acceptance of me without reservations.

Self evident? Possibly not. I'm not one that believes that my religion is for everyone and that a large part of the test is finding what path is right for each person.

My beliefs are based on this reality in this universe being important. I also give respect to the accounts not only of scientists, but of spiritual intuitive types and their perceptions. I think one can learn a lot from dreams and hypnotism. I have always been intuitive myself, and attracted to anything that seemed to be hard for science to explain. I have had early exposure to religion, and from there I developed what I believe to be saner ideas about the spiritual and the human spirit. I have always had a sense that part of me was less limited than the body, and that part of me was eternal. My dreams in my sleep were often more intense than real life. I guess I have some artistic genes in me, so I know that a lot that one gives out creatively, is of an unclear source. I believe that reality is not simple and part of it is not easily accessible or very understandable, and happen in ones dreams. This part is the spiritual realm. Life is often intense and one fines oneself on a fine line. The spiritual often keeps one alive when danger hits, and gut feeling and slight unexplained changes you make, can save your life or prevent serious injury. I did a lot of reading on the occult, psychic phenomenon, and reincarnation when I was young. And also had my own experiences.. I believe in reincarnation of the continuous type, because it keeps one in this reality of this universe. I also believe that lif is in cycles of death and rebirth, sleeping and waking. And the the period between lives is similar to when we are asleep and dreaming. I have developed a spiritual tuning device in the form of a new Astrology system over 30 years. A way of tuning into nature on a large scale. I believe in a God that holds the universe together as one to a workable degree, and represents the energy of creativity and harmony. A God that holds individual spirits together as one to various degrees. One makes assumptions with ones intuition, then tries it out in ones life to see if the beliefs tune you in better, and give you confidence. I have often made changes in my ideas or beliefs because of mistakes I have made in judging or reacting to things or events in life. I push myself very hard and tend to push the edge often in mind-body exercise and meditation, so I do tend to get into trouble. I am good at avoiding serious trouble, through the experience of a long life of pushing limits. One believe thing to be true, because one believes things to work. I have trained myself to be as strong at handling emotions as possible. I do not avoid intense connection with others emotionally. and think I have become a master at handling the struggle of life, With this attitude you could see me getting into some trouble, that I would have to be good at dealing with.

Because that is how I feel. I believe there is no other way. Except to believe that. I believe it is the best why to believe. For I am wrong to other peoples opinions, but do I care-no.
For me, it works. It is true. It has been right for me, and the best way to believe.

It's a shield. I have used my religion to shield me from things that my friends have done, and still do. Porn, drugs, violence, foul language, lack of respect for others, and ect. I can quite literally say that my title "Christian" has given me reason to stay clean. If in the end it turns out God does not truly exist, some would say I missed out because of my religion, I would say I stayed humble, and clean because of it.

I believe what I believe because I have *faith* in things seen and unseen. Proof that my Lord once walked the earth, and I have felt his presence in my life and those around me. That is enough for me.
